TEHRAN (FNA)- Rotating Presidency of the Organization of Petroleum-Exporting Countries (OPEC) was officially handed to Iran for the first time since the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

Iranian Oil Minister Massoud Mir-Kazzemi had been elected as the head of the Organization in the oil cartel's 157th Regular Ministerial Conference in Vienna, Austria, in October.

Later, Iran's OPEC Governor Mohammad Ali Khatibi told FNA that Iran would officially assume presidency on January 1, 2011.

The development will enable Iran to host an OPEC meeting since any country holding the organization's rotating presidency can invite oil ministers of the member states to meet there once.

Iran has already announced that it intends to work out deeper coordination and cooperation among the member states in order for the oil cartel to have orchestrated and leading positions in determining market prices through better supply-and-demand formulas.

OPEC is a permanent intergovernmental organization of 12 oil-exporting developing nations that also include Algeria, Angola, Ecuador, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Venezuela.

OPEC coordinates and unifies the petroleum policies of its member countries.

OPEC has maintained its headquarters in Vienna since 1965, and hosts regular meetings among the oil ministers of its member countries.

Justice Department finally released a report about a secret government policy

After four years the Justice Department finally released a report by the Office of Special Investigations about a secret government policy, Project Paperclip, that gave Nazi criminal scientists a safe haven in the US as well as high level employment after World War II--in direct defiance of President Truman's policy.

Under Project Paperclip not only rocket scientists were recruited, but convicted war criminals-- including doctors who had conducted medical atrocities on concentration camp inmates, such as: experiments with plague vaccines, experiments that force-fed chemically altered seawater to starved Dachau concentration camp inmates...

While official American policy after the war was to prosecute war criminals for the atrocities committed under Adolf Hitler, many sectors of the U.S. government--in particular, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)--concealed incriminating evidence in order to bring these individuals into the U.S.

In essence, the report documents how U.S. officials in the intelligence agencies subverted American democratic principles by adopting the Nazi utilitarian philosophy which posits that the ends justify the means.

Forget the iPad; the ultimate icon of fetishized commodity is the drone. Israelis do it - and sell them like hot cakes. Mexicans do it - to patrol their side of the border. Brazilians wanna do it - to patrol the Rio favelas. Saudis wanna do it. Uzbeks wanna do it. Everybody's singing: Let's do it. Let's fall in love (with the drone).

Furthermore, abandon all hope those who enter (the doors of misperception): Afghanistan is now officially just a lowly, troop-infested sideshow to the AfPak war. The real thing is an illegal drone war against Pakistan. Viva Richard Nixon. As much as Tricky Dick annexed Cambodia to the Vietnam War, the Barack Obama administration pulled a Nixon regarding Pakistan. And the great thing is that no one needs another WikiLeaks "dump" to know this. It's out there in the open.
